The Change By Design initiative is currently taking place through the Heads On Fire :: FAB LAB in San Diego, CA.
Change By Design as a concept focuses on the idea of advancement by way of education, skill development and innovative action. ‘Design’ is used in this context to describe the art of creation, as evidenced in the act of inventing, as well as a strategic methodology for positive personal and social development.
In order to create change in ourselves and our communities, we must have tools. By way of the tool set available through the Fab Lab, we can utilize advanced technology in a way that is relevant, accessible and empowering. The Change By Design program and related curricula are designed to provide an interface between the tools for innovation and those who would benefit from their use.
